Cian and Guzzler from the Lifetime Lab visited Junior Infants, Senior Infants, First and Second Classes on Thursday 26th January. Cian is a scientist and Guzzler is a 70 year old alien who travels around in Cians backpack. Cian explained all about how Guzzler keeps wasting energy and how he is training Guzzler to change his ways.

Cian demonstrated the energy in bouncing balls and how the energy can be passed on between them.

1st and 2nd Classes visit the City Library for the Children’s Book Festival

1st and 2nd Classes spent an enjoyable hour listening to Dolores Keaveney, author and illustrator, reading from her books. They thoroughly enjoyed learning about bees and the collecting of honey.

CAKE SALE

Congratulations to 1^st class and their parents who had a very successful Cake Sale last Wednesday and raised €180 for the school funds.

HARVEST ASSEMBLY

Despite the weather, a very enjoyable Harvest Assembly was held last Friday. All classes contributed with Senior Infants leading the prayers, Junior Infants entertaining us with an amusing poem about eating pizza while 1st class acted out the story of The Little Red Hen. All classes joined in the singing of Harvest Time which was well led by the girls in 4th and 5th classes.

Thank you to all of the parents who donated so much produce. The response was overwhelming and the Simon Community were full of thanks for the 20 bags of food which we delivered. During Assembly 6 th class had told us some of the history of the Simon Community and the work they do today.

PLACES JUNIOR INFANTS 2012
Offers of places for Junior Infant children for 2012 will be given out by 28th October. If you need a place for a child or know of someone who wishes to have a place could you please make sure the name is down immediately. This will greatly assist with administration for the coming year.
