1st and 2nd Classes visit the City Library for the Children’s Book Festival

1st and 2nd Classes spent an enjoyable hour listening to Dolores Keaveney, author and illustrator, reading from her books. They thoroughly enjoyed learning about bees and the collecting of honey.

CAKE SALE
Congratulations to 1st class and their parents who had a very successful Cake Sale last Wednesday and raised €180 for the school funds.
HARVEST ASSEMBLY
Despite the weather, a very enjoyable Harvest Assembly was held last Friday. All classes contributed with Senior Infants leading the prayers, Junior Infants entertaining us with an amusing poem about eating [...]

PARENTS’ COUNCIL AGM

At the recent Parents’ Council AGM the following officers and reps were elected. We’d like to thank them for supporting the school, the pupils and teachers and hope they can follow in the success of last year. The Interactive White Boards are now up and working in all rooms.

 Five of our 4th class pupils- Norah Coughlan McCarthy, Saoirse Daly, Victoria Kingston, Ciara Rodahan and Emma Walsh are delighted with their successs in the Cork Schools Heritage project, where they achieved 2nd place in the 4th class group section. CONGRATULATIONS AIJS SUCCESS

We were delighted to receive news of our girls success in two AIJS events recently. Julie Olden, Georgia Ryan and Vivienne Mallen have proved to be a wow with the camera and got prizes in the photographic competition.

Trinity Ecumenical |Service

The girls from 3-6th classes were delighted to be asked to provide the choir for this event yesterday which was taking part in one of our neighbouring churches. Their conrtibution to the service was much appreciated and they were rewarded afterwards with drinks, scones and biscuits which they very much enjoyed.

Photographic Exhibition

Scoil Mhuire Junior School is a member of The Association of Independent Junior Schools (A.I.J.S.).  There are over 30 members throughout the country, all schools similar to ours.  Scoil Mhuire Junior School were the hosts for the Photographic Competition this month.
