Primary Science at Fota - 9 March 2017
Every second year, usually in the spring, we have an all-school visit to Fota. It is very exciting for everyone but especially so for the younger children.
We don't even go to school for the day - we meet at the station at 8.30am and get straight on the train for Fota. This year we were sure we would get wet and so everyone was fully equipped with wellies, raincoats and layers of warm clothes. It turned out sunny and we were all roasted but not complaining.
The Education Team at Fota, led by Caroline, are fantastic: they were endlessly patient, knowledgable, informative and entertaining. We walked for miles, found out about every animal in the place, including the insects, had all our questions answered and returned to the station at 3pm delighted and exhausted.
