We had a short assembly at 11.45am on Friday, just before school closed for the two week Easter break.
There were two nice surprises at the assembly:
Sophie O'Neill - a student in the secondary school - is travelling to Kenya in June for three weeks. She will be working with Moving Mountains to help build a school. She will also be climbing Mount Kenya AND will run a summer camp with local children. We hope three weeks is enough!!
In order to raise money to fund this work, Sophie ran a raffle for a huge Easter egg and offered tickets for sale in the Junior School. Our thanks to all the parents who supported by allowing their children to buy tickets. Emily in First Class was the lucky winner. I think the photograph shows how pleased she was. She's certainly going to have enough chocolate on Easter Sunday!
The second surprise was prizes for the Novartis colouring competition which was a follow up of the visit by Novartis engineers organised by Mr Kearney.
There was a delighted winner in each class. The sixth class winner, Isabelle, was away skiing so does not appear in our photograph.
Thank you Mr Kearney and Novartis!!
