The first assembly of our summer term was designated an awards assembly. This means that girls who have won awards, either in school or outside, explain and show to the rest of the school the things they have achieved.
There were a great number of achievers to celebrate as the photos will show. There were medals and rosettes, cups and plaques covering all kinds of activities: dance, ballet, gymnastics, football, basketball, horse riding, Feis Ceoil, Feis Maitiú, science, environmental action and I'm quite sure I haven't managed to list them all.
Mrs Lingwood presented the Green School Committee with tokens of appreciation for their hard work and successful campaign to get our (second) Green School flag for Energy.
Sixth Class really excelled themselves in their Young Scientist project on electricity and Professor Mansfield from UCC's Physics Department congratulated them and presented them with their certificates.
Fifth and Sixth Classes took part in the Cork Schools Basketball Blitz and received their certificates of participation.
Fifth Class, under the direction of Signorina Laura Odorici, were the delighted winners in their category in the Feis Maitiú and posed for their photograph with their director, trophy and medal.
