Scoil Mhuire Junior School is a member of the Association of Independent Junior Schools in Ireland.
The private primary schools offer the same required education as the national school system. We often operate a broader range of subjects and we often offer a very favourable pupil teacher ratio. However, the private junior schools are termed 'unrecognised' by the government and so the A.I.J.S. serves as a forum for communication and sharing of ideas and resources between the private schools and as a lobby group in dealing with the Department of Education.
The AIJS member schools run a variety of competitions for the children during the school year. We regularly have prize winners and here are three happy winners; poetry and handwriting were their specialties this time.
