English Reading Scheme

The Oxford Reading Tree is our reading scheme and will be supplied in school.

On the first day of term, please send €50 in an envelope with your daughter’s name, to cover the cost of text books, copies, class novels and the Reading Scheme.

STATIONERY: One pencil case with: 3 HB pencils, rubber, sharpener, scissors, 2 large pritt sticks, coloured pencils.

SCHOOL BAG:  For girls from Infants to 3rd Class, we use a Book Bag which MUST be purchased from the school (€50).  It replaces the need for a sack and the plastic book bag provided in previous years.  It has been especially designed for the school by a local Crosshaven company, McWilliams Sailmakers.   It is durable, waterproof and has the school crest and a name tag.

We love the girls to enjoy reading.  The following lists might help you to choose great books.

We have introduced a scheme in the hope of encouraging them to read throughout the summer. Attached you will find a list of books which we feel would benefit the girls to read.  It also has books which this year’s 3rd class recommend. There will be certificates presented in September indicating how many books were read.

By the side of each book on the list please write the date started and finished and return the list to us in September.

Good luck with it and happy reading.
